Joni & Friends Family Retreat

We have been very busy this past week. We were at the Joni & Friends Family Retreat for the Greater Phoenix area. It was at Calvary Chapel Murrieta Hot Springs. It was beautiful. We had a lot of involvement this year. My mom, Jimmy, Staci, and Lindsey were STM's (Short Term Missionaries) for the week. The STM's volunteer and pay to take care of a child or adult who has a disability. It is amazing what they do. They have all the kids climb a rock wall who are in a wheel chair and paralyzed and these kids go all the way up to the top. When Uncle Dave gave jeep rides, some of the adults have not been in a car for 10 years. They are always in their vans in their chairs. Some kids have never even sat in the front seat! They had horse back rides, swimming. And there were no limitations for anyone. It was so cool to see how happy someone would be to swim. It makes you realize how we take so much for granted.
They did such a great job! Ohh, and Emily- she stayed down there and did a great job helping everyone. Aunt Pat was definitely the most busy. She was in charge of the puppet team, children's activities, the ladies tea, and put Uncle Dave in charge of the Men's Sport Day and Jeep Rides! Wew.. that was a lot. We were all so blessed by all of the families there. We fell in love with all of the kids and adults! It is funny how God works- we go to bless them for the week and the truth is..We get Blessed more than we could ever imagine. I actually took my digital camera this time, so I will be posting a bunch of pictures for you guys.
